One thing that totally impacted my life today from one of Benjamin Franklins idea was electricity. If it wasn’t for this we wouldn’t have light and we would be in the dark. We would not have microwaves, computers, or even ipods either. This would change my life. We also would not have hospitals and many people would die. We also wouldn’t be so advanced in technology. So thank you Ben Franklin.

One of Benjamin Franklin’s inventions that has greatly impacted my life would be his experiments with electricity. In this era, everything we use needs electricity and Benjamin’s studies of long ago helped to move the world along the path of electric power. Franklin made an electrical battery, formed the theories of positive and negative electricity, and also experimented with the energy of lightening. We owe much of our modern comforts to the ingenuity and genius of Benjamin Franklin.

Ben Franklin has made many inventions. One large one was the franklin stove. It kept all the houses then warm, used less wood, and was safer. The stove has been reinvented many times and keeps use warm during winter. Now that concept is also a regular stove. That is how the Franklin stove has impacted my life.

One way my life is impacted by Benjamin Franklin is that he discovered electricity. Without electricity I wouldn’t be able to look up and do homework on the computer. I wouldn’t be able to make food and I wouldn’t be able to use lights to see where I’m going and what I’m doing. Most importantly I wouldn’t have any air conditioning so I wouldn’t be able to cool down or get out of the heat. That is one discovery of Benjamin Franklin that has impacted my life.

Without this energy source things would be very different. His next invention that changed my life is the evaporative cooler. This invention let way to the regular coolers and heaters in every day American households. The last invention that comes to mind is mosquito nets he made. One way Benjamin Franklin has change life today is through his invention of Daylight Savings Time. Benjamin Franklin believed that people should use daylight more productively. Daylight Savings Time moves up an hour in the spring, and falls back an hour in the fall. People use Daylight Savings Time so they can get more out of each day. That is why I think Benjamin Franklin’s invention of Daylight Savings Time has effected our lives today.

Benjamin Franklin has created so many different and important inventions that have a huge impact on us today. The one invention though that really has an impact on me today is electricity. I don’t know if I could live without electricity. It powers my house with air conditioning and heating which is very important especially in the summer for us. It also lights my house so I don’t need to carry a candle with me at night or if I was reading. But the biggest impact is that it powers our electronics like our computers, iPods, cell phones, etc. And if we didn’t have electricity, I couldn’t even post this on the blog or any blog. The inventions of bifocals/glasses is probably the thing that has benefited in my and many other people’s lives. Without the idea of glasses, contacts and sunglasses would probably not exist. They help people see and improve their vision. Electricity is a big thing also, but Ben Franklin didn’t invent that, he just discovered it. Benjamin Franklin was a brilliant scientist and inventor. With out Franklin life would most definitely not be what it is like today. One of Franklin’s most famous discoveries was electricity and the invention of the light bulb. If Benjamin Franklin had not conducted his famous experiment with a kite and key in the middle of a lightening storm we may still not have electricity to this day. But we definitely would not have all of the conveniences that we have today that run on electricity, such as television, computers, or microwaves. The one invention I would truly have to thank Benjamin Franklin for would be Electricity. I just couldn’t imagine life without TV’s, radios, computers, light, air conditioning and micro waves. They are all a big part of my everyday life. I don’t know how I would survive. Every one of those items I use every day about a 1,000 times. Without them I would be bored to death.

One way my life has been impacted with Ben Franklin’s inventions would be electricity. Think of how many things we wouldn’t have without electricity. Without it who knows instead of light bulbs we might still be using candles as lights. Another thing would be a computer without the computer I know we couldn’t have known as many things that we know today we might still have to use books to figure out all of the info. Benjamin Franklin made many interesting inventions in his life. One that has affected me is the Franklin stove. It was the first step towards newer, innovative stoves. The stove was more than just a cooking pit. It was like a furnace and also heated the houses safer. If this had not been created, it might have taken longer to get gas stoves and electric stoves.

Benjamin Franklin is truly an amazing historic figure of the past. Many of his inventions have helped numerous people today, and without them, we’d be troubled. For instance, Franklin invented the lightning rod. Without it, buildings and houses would be struck by lightning and people would be hurt or killed. The lightning rod allows the electricity from the strike of lightning to pass directly through whatever it’s on. Where I live, there can be dangerous lightning storms because I live very close to the mountains. The lightning strikes all around my home. If Benjamin Franklin had never invented the lightning rod, my home along with others could be damaged by the lightning and people could be killed. Benjamin Franklin invented bifocals. Before this invention people had to carry around two pairs of glasses. My grandparents both were bifocals and without them they would not be able to drive me around. When ever my mom and dad are not able to take me somewhere, my grandparents take me. If they didn’t have their bifocals they would not be able to drive because they can’t be switching from one pair of glasses to another to see things in the road that are either far or near.

I think that the odometer has effected modern life the most. Although it hasn’t effected me directly, I think that it has helped modern life. It has helped modern life more than most of franklins invensions. IT has been put in cars and I have no idea what cars and vvehicles for that matter would be like with out the all important odometer. If there wasn’t a library I don’t think people would be as smart. For starters they wouldn’t have all of the researching tools. Or people would have to buy all of there books. I wonder everyday how the Indians and all the men and women and their children were able to survived in the hot air or only use a candle to get around to see where you were going. As I said, I agree with you, but I don’t really think it would do so much to pollute the air, I think it would make our world a darker place! I think we would have to find shade all the time to stay cool. There are many reasons why we are thankful for electricity, but we have to think, I wonder how those people that didn’t have back then, got around.

My life and all of our lives today have been affected by Benjamin Franklin. Some of the smaller inventions he did to help change the world was his new and improved stove, bifocals, and the odometer. Almost every single home in our world has a stove to help cook, the bifocals to help those with bad eyesight to see, and the odometer helps to show how far you have traveled. Another big invention was the lightning rod, which transferred electricity from lightning to the ground. One of the biggest things Benjamin did to help change the world was day light savings time. Almost every state in the United States has day light savings time. Daylight savings time is setting your watch and clocks ahead for the afternoon so the afternoons are longer and the mornings are shorter. I am a swimmer and the fin is a very crucial training tool. It helps you with pacing, and getting used to the stroke technique of going fast. If I had to pick an invention that Ben Franklin made it would probably be the Odometer. Without the odometer people wouldn’t know how long certain routes are. Without the odometer we would be completely oblivious to how long we would need to travel. When we would buy fuel for our cars we might not buy enough and not get to our location. I agree with Dillon C because I think without electricity life would be very different. We wouldn’t have a phone or computer or a TV. You couldn’t communicate very well either. You would have to send messages and it would take many days to get to the people you are trying to communicate with. Electricity is very helpful.

I agree with Jordan Smith when she said that one of the most important inventions was the lightning rod. This simple yet effective invention has saved many people and buildings from getting struck by lightning. Since the lightning rod takes the energy and electricity into the ground making it an effective way to avoid lightning from striking a certain area. The wires and what not attract the electricity from lightning away from everything else. Out of the many effective inventions that Benjamin Franklin made in his lifetime this is the most important and well known.

I’m responding to Jennie D. I agree with Jennie because yes, a lot of people have had their homes stuck by lightning and there could’ve been much more damage without the lightning rod. Also with the odometer, it is in every single car that is made today. It helps us to figure out how far a place is from our house. That is why I agree with Jennie D.

I agree with Sarah F. If Ben Fanklin hadn’t experimented with electricity, than our lives would be much different. For one thing, we wouldn’t be able to use the computer or any other electronics that we have in the world today. If it wasn’t for electricity our lives would be very differint.

Juliana C- I agree with you completely Juliana. If Ben Franklin had not invented to bifocals, millions of people in the world would not be able to see well. We would be knocking into to things and breaking things all the time. Franklin surely hit the jackpot on this one. We appreciate his invention of the bifocal glasses.

I agree with Michael S. The bifocals that Benjamin Franklin invented made a big impact on my life, too. If i didn’t have glasses, my life would be impaired as well. People who need glasses really badly wouldn’t be able to see as well as those who have good vision. The bifocals are helpful to a lot of people, including me.

Nick M, i agree with you all the way about electricity and the evaporative cooler. Without any of those things, life would be unbelievably different. Electricity would be the hardest thing to live without because we need it to see and do everything. the evaporative cooler would definately be very hard to live without, too. Great response Nick M.

I agree with Nate H. because Daylight Savings Time is very important. I wouldn’t have thought that Ben Franklin invented this. This is why I agree with Nate that Daylight Savings Time is very important and affects life today.

One of Benjamin Franklin’s inventions has impacted me in so many ways. This invention he called electricity has impacted me so much, that I use it everyday. Without this wonderful invention, we would not have Television, computers, telephones, light, or air. Those things we use pretty much everyday in our lives, well I know I do and without it I wouldn’t see how we could live. A big one would be air, without air it would be very hot in our houses and we would need to drink all the time. Without light would also be hard for me, my family, and even you. We use electricity so much, we don’t even know it, and so I’m very thankful that he created this wonderful invention.

Jack P. I agree with you fully! Without electricity it would be hard on us, to see, hear, and be cooled off. I wonder everyday how the Indians and all the men and women and their children were able to survived in the hot air or only use a candle to get around to see where you were going. As I said, I agree with you, but I don’t really think it would do so much to pollute the air, I think it would make our world a darker place! I think we would have to find shade all the time to stay cool. There are many reasons why we are thankful for electricity, but we have to think, I wonder how those people that didn’t have back then, got around.

Electricty, is an invention of Ben Franklin that has changed my life in dramatic ways. Without this invention we would still be using candles for light in our homes, night time, and other times where the sun is not availble. If this invention were not to have happend, many other inventions would have not been with exsistence.
Electricity would have caused some transportation and communication issues, if Ben Franklin never invented it. I have many reasons on how this invention has impacted my life and these are only some reasons.

I agree with you, Jake O. that without electricty we wouldn’t have heat during the winter and cool air during the summer. Some tempatures can cause serious health issues and it’s important we have the heaters and AC’s to keep us safe.

I think most important invention Ben Franklin made has to be electricity. Every ones lives would be different with out electricity. We wouldn’t have half of the things we have today with out electricity.

Ben Franklins most important invention was the lighting rod it has been a big impact on our lives today. The lightening rod prevented storms burning out our electricity. It prevents the lightening from striking trees and causing fires. The lightening rod was very important. I also agree with Jillian L. saying that if we didn’t have the lighting rode we would be running into things at night in the pitch black, trust me it happens!

I disagree with you. I am grateful for the lightbulb too, but it was invented by Thomas Edison a good amount of years later. He only discovered electricity, which I am also grateful for. Ben Franklin did not even come close to creating a lightbulb. It was his discoveries that led to the creation of the lightbulb. Sorry, Brennan, but get your facts strait.

I agree with Jillian L regarding the invention of electricity. This probably the single most life changing things to have happened. With electricity people’s lives really changed. They were able to do things at night and not rely on the sunlight.
